Cycle skills training

Whether you're just getting started or wanting to build your confidence and skills further, there are cycle training opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

Join one of our popular cycle skills sessions with an experienced Cycle Confident instructor and others wanting to build their skills in cycling. Book a session (it’s free!) here. The courses are suitable for anyone aged 10 and over, and you don’t need to own a bike to take part.

TfL Travel for Life (formerly STARS) accredited schools are eligible to book cycle training for students. The Bikeability course is delivered in schools to build confidence in cycling in our young people. The course teaches them about safety on the roads and the benefits of cycling for themselves and the planet. If you work at a school, book cycle training for your students here, and find out more about becoming Travel for Life (formerly STARS) accredited here.

Take the online cycle skills course (delivered by Transport for London). Whether you’re new to cycling or just want to brush up on your skills, this course provides easy to follow tips and advice to get you going. Take the three-part course here

People in Enfield have a great time at our cycle training sessions and come away with more confidence and skills to start cycling or venture onto cycling on the roads. Read some of the many testimonials we receive below, and more here.

“As a total beginner I had a lot to learn but now feel that I can ride a bike. I have to practice a bit more before venturing out onto the roads but having the lessons has made it possible for me to make a start and figure out what I need to do next. Thank you so much for your patience and motivation.”

” Thank you for an amazing session. I was unsure whether, at my age, I would be able to build enough confidence to take the next step in purchasing a bike and continue practicing to become a safe cycler on the road. Although I am not quite there yet, I have learnt so much in the two hours and really looking forward to the next sessions to further build on my skills.”

“The children really enjoyed their sessions.  One child spoke about how her dad took her out on the road for a bike ride after she had completed the training.”

“This was a fantastic programme that all children involved thoroughly enjoyed. The instructors were fantastic, and we cannot wait to work with them again. Thank you.”
