People who live or work in Enfield had the opportunity to boost their bike security this February, thanks to a fantastic initiative from Enfield Council and the Metropolitan Police. Free bike marking was offered at all Dr Bike locations across the borough, and an impressive 99 bikes were registered throughout the month!
Bike marking is a simple yet powerful way to help protect your ride. When a bike is registered with BikeRegister, the National Cycle Database, it becomes 83 per cent less likely to be stolen. The registration also provides a logbook as proof of ownership, making it easier for the police to return stolen bikes to their rightful owners. With all UK police forces able to access BikeRegister, marked bikes stand a much greater chance of being recovered if lost or stolen.
Missed out this time? Don’t worry! More bike marking events are on the horizon this summer, so stay tuned for upcoming dates and locations. Secure your bike and ride with confidence!
