On Saturday 21 September 2024, Edmonton will be buzzing with activity during the Open House Festival. There are free open days and events taking place across all 33 London boroughs.
Jan Kattein Architects @ Angel Yard: Open Day and Walking Tours
Jan Kattein Architects (JKA) will be hosting an Open Day at Angel Yard from 11am to 4pm. Angel Yard is a collection of temporary, affordable workspaces and a community hall, created from 36 converted garages as part of a broader regeneration strategy led by Enfield Council. The initiative includes several community-focused projects, including the Living Room Library, Grove Street School Street (the ‘Clean Air Route’), and a programme of public artworks designed to tackle local social challenges.
As part of the Open Day, JKA has organised three walking tours of the Good Growth funded projects, starting at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm. Each tour will highlight key aspects of the regeneration efforts, including:
Pavilion on The Green: Summer Programme Closing Event
From 2pm to 6pm, the Pavilion on The Green will host the closing event of its summer programme. Visitors are invited to stop by Angel Yard earlier in the day before heading over to the Pavilion for an afternoon of community festivities.
The event will feature performances by the DJ MC Academy, Tope Olufemi, and the New River Sea Shanty group. There will also be a Zinfinity jewellery workshop.
