Enfield schools nominated in TfL Travel for Life Top Schools Awards

TfL Travel for Life is a free accreditation programme that offers a series of free educational programmes (from ages 3 to 17) to schools and education settings across London.

The TfL Travel for Life Top Schools Awards took place on 21 May 2024. We congratulate two of our Travel for Life schools, who were regional finalists for three awards!

Kingsmead was a regional finalist for the Best Modeshift Impact and Creativity and Innovation Award, and Hazelbury Primary was a finalist for Best School Champion. TfL received over 200 nominations, so we are very proud of these two schools that stood out from the rest!

Kingsmead School has only been part of the Travel for Life programme for 2 years, and they have made huge changes in the way students travel to school. 78% of their pupils and staff are traveling either by public transport or by walking or cycling to school. They have set themselves a target to increase this every year.

The School Travel Champion at Hazelbury Primary School is passionate about children and staff traveling sustainably and has worked tirelessly to increase active travel within the school community over the past few years. She has also been a great advocate for the school street, which has helped build good relationships between the school and the local residents.

If schools would like to be part of the Travel for Life program, they can sign up for an account here.
