Enfield primary schools were recently invited to take part in the “Getting to School” Art Competition, designed to inspire creativity while raising awareness of active and sustainable ways to travel to school.

We received an impressive 52 entries from talented young artists across the borough, all showcasing the many benefits of choosing healthier and more environmentally friendly ways to travel to school, including walking, cycling, scooting and wheeling.

Individual Prize Winner: Jasmine (age 5) from Bowes Primary School won the individual prize, taking home a brand new bicycle.

School Prize Winner: Students at Carterhatch Primary School were awarded the school prize, winning five scooters and helmets for their school.

A huge congratulations to all the children who participated. Their artwork highlighted the importance of making sustainable travel choices and showed great creativity and imagination. By choosing active travel options such as walking, cycling, scooting and wheeling, pupils can help improve air quality, reduce congestion around schools, and enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of being active every day.
