This Summer, Enfield Council’s Journeys and Places team has been busy helping residents get active, confident, and connected through a wide range of walking and cycling activities across the borough. From family fun in the park to training that encourages everyday active travel, the programme has seen hundreds of people take part.

Since April this year:

  1. More than 200 people have taken part in a ‘Walk and Talk’ group organised by local community groups including REACT, Edmonton Community Partnership and the London Cycling Campaign, supported and funded by Journeys and Places
  2. 775 bikes were checked and repaired by our Dr Bike service, making sure bikes are safe to cycle
  3. 2088 people attended our All Ability Cycling Hub in Bush Hill Park, with many sessions delivered in partnership with Age UK to make cycling accessible, enjoyable, and inclusive for everyone
  4. 69 young people took part in our Summer Cycling activities in Pymmes Park, learning new skills and having fun together while on school holidays
  5. More than 300 young people and just under 100 adults undertook cycle training, growing their confidence to make more everyday journeys by bike.
  6. By making walking and cycling more accessible and bringing people together to do so, the Journeys and Places programme is encouraging healthier lifestyles, reducing carbon emissions, and building stronger communities.
